Please keep reading to hear our overall experience. If I did my job then it should help you decide to purchase it or not.

Features And Specifications
Between the aroma plus grinder, pulse extraction system, and the intelligent water system this is about as automated as you can obtain in a middle-of-the-road automatic coffee machine.
If you want to compare it read our review of the top 9 Jura machines
The E6 produces a fuller-bodied espresso with a thicker crema than a lot of machines that cost hundreds more.
When it comes to frothing milk you’ll receive the best results by learning how to do it manually but I found this to be fun instead of having a more automatic frothing system. (watch the video below for a frothing tutorial)
The steam valve can be opened and closed by turning the right-hand dial according to the on-screen instructions. As a result, your cappuccino milk will be frothy.
The E6 is easy to use and clean, thanks in part to the 1.8 L reservoir’s Clearyl Smart water filter, which ensures great-tasting coffee and reduces the frequency with which descaling is required.
When it’s time for a little maintenance, a warning appears on the screen, just like it does on all JURAmachines. The JURA E6 cleans, descales, or cleans its own brew group, milk system, or boiler system with the simple addition of the designated cleaner and pressing start.
If you like the E6 but want a machine that can also make lattes, the Jura E8 is the next step up; or, for even more capacity for a small office or home entertaining, read our Jura Z6 review.
Most importantly, How Is the Coffee
The coffee is on par with or better than that found in a professional coffee shop. You’ll be hard-pressed to make a better cup of coffee than the Jura E6 once you’ve nailed down the settings.
Many grind and brew coffee machines are much more expensive than those that brew excellent coffee. However, few machines allow you to customize your coffee to the extent that the Jura series does.
As a result, the beans’ essence is maximized through innovative processing methods.
The PEP technology from Jura is one of a kind because it allows the beans to be infused with incredible flavor. At 15 bars of pressure, it’s on par with professional machines. Ground beans are more likely to release their essential oils when steam is pulsing through them. This results in a very full-bodied cup of coffee.
With a new angle on the grinder, the way the coffee is ground has been significantly altered. This allows the beans to maintain a higher percentage of their fats and oils to keep the flavor that you expect.
Jura E6’s milk could be frothed and served a bit hotter. Automatic coffee machines seem to be plagued by this issue.
Can The Jura E6 Use Ground Coffee
Another drawback for some is that you can’t use pre-ground coffee. It’s a no-brainer that freshly ground coffee from whole beans is superior to powdered coffee.
If you’re looking for a machine that allows you to use pre-ground coffee here is our review of filter coffee machines.
Types Of coffee You can Make With The Jura E6
The coffee drink options are then presented to you. The following are the options available:
Espresso (single or double shot)
A concentrated form of coffee, espresso is typically served in small, stout doses and is the foundation for many coffee beverages.
People tend to believe that espresso has more caffeine than an 8 oz cup of coffee but this isn’t the case.
Espresso, is typically served in smaller portions than coffee, which means it contains less caffeine per serving.
Espresso has around 75 mg of caffeine in a double shot and an 8 oz cup of coffee has around 108 mg.
Coffee
I think we all know what coffee is, or you wouldn’t be reading this review.
Long Black
In order to make an Americano, you pour steaming water over espresso, but in order to make a long black, you do the opposite. Because the espresso is poured over hot water, it retains more of its crema than an Americano would.
Cappuccino
Some of the variations of cappuccino include using non-dairy milk substitutes, using cinnamon or chocolate powder, and using cream instead of milk. It has a thicker layer of microfoam than a caffè latte and is typically smaller in volume.
Caffè Barista
The ideal combination of aromatic espresso and smooth, fine milk foam is achieved.
Lungo Barista
An automatic coffee machine can be used to make an Italian-style coffee, which is a short black (one espresso shot) with some more water (generally doubled), leading to a larger cup of coffee known as a lungo, or long coffee.
Macchiato
Baristas in Italy probably invented the macchiato in the 1980s as a way to distinguish between orders for plain espresso and orders that included milk. Coffee with a drop of milk, or café pingado, is a popular drink in Portugal.
For example, many people think of a latte as equal parts milk and espresso, and a macchiato as a shot of espresso with milk and foam on top. This means that the recipe for the beverage will vary depending on how much espresso and how much milk are used.
Hot milk
You can heat milk alone to use for tea or hot chocolate
Hot water
You can dispense hot water to make tea or hot chocolate.
Most people’s palates should be satisfied by these drinks, but to be honest, I was a little surprised there wasn’t a flat white on the list. However, there is a lot of room in the menu for you to program your own drink preferences, and even if your favorite drink isn’t listed, it’s simple to make one.
To use the Jura E6, simply press the button that corresponds to your preferred beverage, making sure that a cup is placed beneath the dispenser. For instance, if you want a shot of espresso, simply press the espresso button.
If you want two shots of espresso, place two cups under the espresso machine and press the espresso button twice. That is all there is to it!
To make a cappuccino and use the milk frother, you need to make sure that the milk jug is attached to the machine before you begin the process. A lot of people here at Coffee Semnantics thought it looked a little unattractive with the milk pipe trailing in front of it.
This wasn’t a huge concern of mine but there is a stainless steel milk pipe that connects the machine to your milk container that is available as an option.
For the best results, place your cup of frothy cappuccino under the coffee and milk spout, which is easy. You’ll need to use the Jura E6’s cappuccino button and open the steam knob (upper right) (counter-clockwise).
Milk Frothing process
While configuring your cappuccino, you can specify how much milk you’d like in it and how long you’d like it to take to pour. Cappuccino milk dispensed is the same every time you make one.
When the switch is turned on, the display will let you know, and it will also let you know when the milk has been dispensed. After you turn the steam knob clockwise, the Jura will begin to brew a delicious cup of espresso.
Using the Jura E6 is a breeze thanks to its TFT display, which tells you everything you need to know about the process, from milk pouring to coffee dispensing.
Is The Jura E6 easy To Set Up And Program
I was able to make my first cup of espresso in less than ten minutes. It takes a few steps to get the machine up and running for the first time. Fill the water tank to the brim, test the hardness with the included tester, and then adjust the settings to your preferred level.
The Jura E6’s is extremely user-friendly. To access a new menu, simply press the button on the TFT display that corresponds to the display options. As someone who likes to skim through a manual before diving in, it’s in your best interest to read the setup section to ensure that you don’t miss any important steps.
Input the hardness of your water to see if you’ve properly installed the smart water filter, and the machine will let you know if you haven’t.
Replace the aroma preservation lid on top of the hopper and add your preferred coffee beans.
If you’d like a milky beverage, attach the milk pipe to the milk nozzle, fill the jug with milk, almond milk or any other product you choose, then place the other end of the milk tube in the jug. Your first cup of joe is nearly ready.
The Jura E6 simplifies the process of creating your ideal cup of coffee, but it will take some trial and error. It’s possible to leave Jura’s factory settings to choose the coffee for you, but you’ll be missing out on your preferred flavor.
With the Jura conical burr grinder, you have full command over the grind size coffee. To change the flavor, simply turn the dial on the bean hopper until you find the setting you prefer.
The menu layout on the TFT display is nearly identical regardless of the beverage you are picking to brew. Making espresso allows you to fine-tune the flavor, strength, and even temperature of your beverage.
If you want a milky drink like Cappuccino, you can control the amount of milk that pours and the temperature.
Set a pause between the start of the coffee extraction and the milk frothing so that you receive layers in your cappuccino. Using this granular control, you can create a drink that is tailored to your individual tastes.
It’s worth considering a Jura milk container and one of their cool control jugs if you drink milk regularly. They keep your milk at the ideal temperature (39 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit) so you can use it in your beverage at any time of day or night.
Fully Automated Machine
You can avoid the hassles of grinding the coffee beans manually since it’s a bean-to-cup machine, you can make coffee with ease.
The machine has a large burr grinder that grinds the beans until they become coarser, resulting in smooth, creamy drinks.
Unlike other machines, Jura made it easy to refill the water reservoir without having to move the machine or spill the water everywhere.
The bean hopper and water reservoir have a large capacity for office settings or households that go through a lot of coffee but if you find yourself not using as much only fill the hopper and reservoir halfway so that the water doesn’t go stagnate and the beans don’t become stale.
TFT (Thin Film Transistor) color LCD Display
The new screen is vibrant and eye-catching. Aside from being extremely user-friendly, the Jura E6 is also extremely intuitive to operate.
You will use the rotary dial to scroll through the display and operate the machine.
You’ll be alerted via the display when the machine needs to be cleaned, the water chamber runs low, or the filter needs to be replaced.
Aroma+ Conical Burr grinder
The new Aroma+ grinder cuts the time it takes to grind coffee in half. The fact that it’s one of the quietest burr grinders on the market should put your mind at ease if you were worried about the noise.
Furthermore, the different cutting angles of the grinder have greatly improved the taste of the coffee. More oils can be extracted without heating the bean during the extraction process. The aroma of the beans can be enhanced by pre-infusing the grounds.
Intelligent Water System (I.W.S) & CLearyl Smart Filter
Once you’ve installed the water filter and followed the easy setup instructions the machine will walk you through the next steps. During this step, the Jura will request that you enter the actual water hardness measured by your test strip.
In order to ensure the highest possible water quality at all times, the smart filter will communicate wirelessly with your E6 and notify you when the filter needs to be changed.
This filter, according to Jura, eliminates the need for de-scaling. What you’re looking at here is top-flight. Genius!
There is enough water in the 64 oz tank to make 8 large cups of coffee.
Brew Strength Selector
The Jura E6 allows you to personalize your ideal coffee, no matter what your preferences are.
The amount of coffee you receive will be based on how strong you like your drink. Save your preferences and enjoy a cup of coffee exactly the way you like it every time with the touch of a button.
Custom Drip Tray
All used coffee grounds are collected in a separate bin at the bottom of the machine, as well as any spilled water or milk. The tray is easy to remove, and it can be broken down into sections for cleaning.
In a matter of seconds you can empty the bin making it easy to get rid of all the waste.
Sensors on the drip tray’s back prevent the machine from operating unless the drip tray is fully inserted.
Customizable Options To Match your Preferences
You can adjust the coffee’s strength and other aspects, such as the amount of milk, to get the most flavor out of the machine. Milk foam and hot water are also available as stand-alone products.
Because the machine remembers your preferences, you don’t have to spend time customizing it each time you want a cup of coffee.
(I.P.B.A.S) Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System
The Jura E6 features a one-of-a-kind, cutting-edge brewing system known as the intelligent pre-brew aroma system, also known as I.P.B.A.S.
This unit allows you to select a specific quantity of coffee to have a small quantity of water extracted through it. This allows the coffee’s aroma to be passed through the Pulse Extraction Process, resulting in the best coffee aroma and flavor possible.
JURA Smart Connect-(J.O.E.) Jura Operating experience App
The Jura E6 coffee machine allows for “smart connect” technology solidifying its place in this wireless world we live in.
In essence, the user can download a Jura app to their smartphone and use it to make their favorite coffee while sitting in their garden.
You do have to install the App and buy the Bluetooth device to attach to the E6.
Fine Foam Technology
You can brew any milk-based espresso drink without touching a thing, it’s fully automated.
You choose the texture you want, from fine foam to light and airy, and the Jura E6 takes care of the rest.
The texture of each drink, whether it’s a latte, flat white, cappuccino, or hot chocolate, must be different. Simply scroll through the settings on the TFT display and select the milk texture for each.
(P.E.P.) Pulse Extraction process
Over or under extraction is the number one reason why espresso tastes muddy or sour. This is why Jura invented the Pulse extraction process.
The machine will send pulses of water through the coffee puck to allow complete saturation and even extraction.
It also circulates hot water through the coffee at regular intervals. This also aids in the preservation of the coffee’s flavor.
The coffee maker makes use of the majority of the coffee you give it. As a result, a significant portion of your coffee has been saved.
Is It Easy To Clean And Maintain
When looking for the best automatic coffee maker, you want something that doesn’t need a lot of maintenance.
Thankfully, Jura E6 passed this test because it requires less cleaning as long as you keep a replace the water filter when the machine tells you to.
The lack of auto-cleaning is the machine’s only drawback. You can’t clean the coffee maker with a one-touch button, so you’ll have to do it manually.
The drip tray collects any unused water, spilled coffee, or milk. There’s also a bin for the leftover beans, which makes cleanup a breeze.
How Long Should A Jura Coffee Machine Last
Jura E6 is a beautiful piece of kitchenware that would look great on any counter. In platinum or piano black, it’ll look fantastic, no matter which you choose.
The casing is made of tough plastic, and it appears to be capable of withstanding the daily rigors of coffee preparation for a family for many years. When you press the action buttons they respond quickly and have a slight click.
Overall, the Jura E6 is a nicely-constructed machine that will give you peace of mind knowing that your investment will last many years to come.
Conclusion
I hope that after reading this, you can see how much more sense it makes to use a Jura E6 rather than a pod machine or a cheap model that won’t last.
Your coffee will be far superior in terms of quality and will cost less than a pod. You’ll likely spend about a fourth of the cost of a pod machine, depending on how much your beans cost per pound.
While Jura costs more it is made with higher quality materials and has a lot more features that can allow your tastes to grow with the machine.
While you wait for your investment to pay off, you can relax and enjoy a delicious espresso, knowing that you made the right decision!
